Exmouth & Lympstone Hospiscare is an independent charity providing care in the Exmouth and Lympstone area for people with a life threatening illness.
Our services are provided free of charge, with the support of the local community.
Our Clinical Nurse Specialists work out of our locally based Centre in Highview Gardens, Exmouth, with the primary aim to help patients remain in their own home, and support for the families. They also give expert advice and liaise with other agencies.
In the last year we have added a new role to the team – Assistant Practioner – which has really enriched the service, offering regular support, encouragement and advice as well as practical end of life care.
The Assistant Practioner has freed up the Clinical Nurse Specialists to concentrate on more complex issues.
The Centre gives us the opportunity to provide a range of services for patients and their carers – these include complementary therapies, Carers’ Support Group and Bereavement ‘Drop In’. Working alongside the team are trained volunteers who provide transport for appointments and help with support groups.
We are a local charity receiving no Government funding at all, therefore we very much rely on the generosity of our supporters”.
